醫療志業・以愛守護生命
2000年，慈濟黃金海岸志工選擇走進當地的黃金海岸公立醫院。秉持證嚴上人「頭頂別人的天、腳踩別人的地，要取之於當地，回饋於當地。」的教導，志工們集結一百三十多個家庭的愛心，捐贈心臟監視器與血液含氧機，守護孩子寶貴的生命。
黃金海岸長期以來，和布里斯班的瑪特醫院有著密切關係，起源于志工吳照峰在1991年時，因緣際會下走進布里斯本瑪特醫院。1992 年我們募了一台心臟監視儀器救活了那個年代金世紀錄的可口可樂罐嬰兒（3 7 4 公克），如今這位男孩已經31歲了，也成為了舞蹈老師。支持瑪特醫院醫療研究，慈濟用數十年的時間，陪伴醫院一起守護生命。
2021得知瑪特醫院凱瑟琳之家需要協助，志工們只有一個念頭：「錢放在銀行，不能救人。」於是，一分一毫的愛心，化為實際的行動，守護產前產後母親的心靈健康。
2024年，瑪特醫院慈濟室重新啟用。證嚴上人的法相，靜靜地提醒著每一位走進這裡的人——慈悲，可以改變世界。從一部監視器，到一間慈濟室；從一位志工，到一整個世代。慈濟醫療志業，在澳洲這片土地上，持續以愛守護生命。
