Supporting lives through ongoing care

Charity Case Support

Since 2012, the Adelaide Tzu Chi organization has consistently embodied the principles of compassion and humanitarianism by promoting charitable home visits and care. Its services are aimed at local Chinese families, international students, working holidaymakers, and elderly individuals lacking support. For those experiencing difficulties due to accidents or family tragedies, it offers prompt financial assistance and companionship, aiding them during challenging times.

Since partnering with the local Red Cross in July 2017 to initiate its first refugee distribution, volunteers have committed themselves to the care of refugees. They visit refugee families, listening carefully and empathizing with the physical and emotional suffering endured by those displaced by conflict and persecution, who often face language barriers, cultural differences, and challenges in securing a livelihood. While they await visas and adapt to a new environment, we not only provide financial support and essential supplies but also offer job training opportunities to facilitate their smooth transition into the workforce. Additionally, we extend genuine care and comfort, ensuring that refugee families have someone to depend on and experience the warmth of humanity, even when they are far from their homeland.

For low-income families receiving long-term assistance, Tzu Chi Adelaide routinely distributes food cards and food packages at the end of each year to ease their financial strain and help them enter the new year with peace of mind. At the beginning of the school year, the organization also offers New Sprout Scholarships and school shoes to support children in their educational pursuits. Every July, during the cold winter months, the organization collects donated secondhand winter clothing and provides free haircuts, delivering tangible care and warmth to those in need.

This journey of charitable care is characterized by consistent companionship, progressing step by step, and is a path filled with hope and love repeatedly. It reflects the essence of Tzu Chi – giving selflessly without expecting anything in return, simply engaging in acts of kindness with joy. Through their selfless commitment, volunteers enable those in need to feel supported and cared for.
