What is Tzu Chi's Charity Education Programme?
You need sunlight, breeze, rainwater, and soil to grow a seedling.
To nurture a child, it requires a lot of love and care.
Tzu Chi's charity education programme goes beyond financial aid.
We have worked with schools to identify disadvantaged students who needed extra attention to assist them in achieving their goals. Volunteers strived to support students through their growth stages by creating long-term companionship, customised assistance and frequent home visits as necessary.
Resources we will provide: Study Table or Desk, Comfortable chair, Good lighting - natural light or lamp, Organisational tools - Pencil holders, file organisers and bookshelves, Stationery Supplies – Pens, notebooks, sticky notes, and calculator, Quiet environment – Quiet corner at home or noise-cancelling headphones, Internet access.
Volunteers visited these student beneficiaries at their homes frequently as needed in order to find out the different needs of each child and their family from time to time to provide diverse and customised aid to help them.
Our volunteers are passionate individuals with diverse experiences, most of them are a group of dedicated people with rich social experience who believe that education can transform life and destiny.
The charity education programme also enhances children’s strength by affirming their outstanding performances or behaviour, thus developing their potential and fostering their enthusiasm for independent learning.
Our Mission
Our main objective is to implement a Nurturing fund - Home Improvement project that provides additional support to improve students’ learning condition after school with the intention to assist students' academic performance.
We believe these resources will not only enhance the student's learning experience but also contribute to their overall well-being and academic performance.
Burwood Girls High School and Marsden High School principals, teachers, parents, and students came together to witness this heartwarming moment where love and education intertwine.
Student Lui Riviera listened with a heartfelt attention as volunteers shared the story of Tzu Chi’s establishment of the Man Na Hai School in Turkey, where children who had once lost access to education are gently guided back onto their learning paths. Deeply touched, he came to realise that many children around the world still face the difficult choice between continuing their studies and helping to support their families. This awareness has led him to treasure his own opportunity to learn with a deeper sense of gratitude.
Lui’s mother, Yuli, shared with sincere appreciation that during the time she was unwell and receiving medical treatment, the “Tzu Chi Education Assistance Programme” became a source of quiet strength and hope for their family. It helped sustain her child’s learning journey and brought comfort during a challenging time—an experience that holds lasting meaning in their hearts.
