Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) Melbourne

Healthcare that reaches vulnerable communities

In 2014, in partnership with North Richmond Community Health, TIMA Melbourne hosted its first dental fair. This clinic provided multidisciplinary services every 6-12 months, including dental, medical, chinese medicine and physiotherapy. Its main beneficiaries include asylum seekers who have recently arrived in Australia and do not have official refugee status, people experiencing homelessness, and underprivileged clients supported by Tzu Chi and other charitable organisations.

Over the years, TIMA Melbourne has built strong partnerships with other healthcare providers across Melbourne to foster collaborative care and improve comprehensive support for patients. We warmly invite partnership opportunities that promote better health outcomes for the communities we care for.

Goals

- To work collaboratively with local healthcare providers and community organisations to improve access, equity and continuity of care.
- To promote integrative healthcare that supports prevention, recovery and long-term well-being, including plant-based diet challenge, health seminars and traditional chinese medicine consultation
- To deliver healthcare grounded in compassion, service and respect for human dignity.
