Tzu Ching Brisbane

Youth growing through service and kindness

Since 1996, the Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association (Tzu Ching) has taken root in Brisbane, Australia, having journeyed across the seas to establish itself there. It nurtures young people to integrate the Buddhist values of “compassion, loving-kindness, joy, and equanimity” into their daily lives, and to put the ideal of the “Bodhisattva spirit” into real practice through community service.

In addition to participating in a wide range of volunteer activities—such as voluntary medical services, outreach charity services, and disaster relief—Tzu Ching brings youthful energy and creativity to Tzu Chi’s missions. Through organising various camps and training programs, members deepen their understanding of Tzu Chi’s values while developing practical skills.

By engaging with people from all walks of life, Tzu Ching members strengthen both their hands-on abilities and interpersonal skills. They also run activities for Tzu Chi Youth (age between 12-17) and Tzu Chi Children (age under 12), taking on the role of older brothers and sisters. In doing so, they help nurture the next generation of volunteers, providing a positive, proactive, and caring environment in which young people can grow.
