Dental Fair
Free dental care with education, prevention, and community support
Dental Fair
The Sydney dental outreach programme began in December 2012, with heartfelt gratitude for the support from TIMA Brisbane. Each year, the dental fair is typically held over a weekend around September and runs for two days. To ensure the smooth and successful delivery of the event, Tzu Chi volunteers arrive one day in advance to carefully set up equipment and organise resources, preparing thoughtfully for the upcoming service.
Founder of Tzu Chi Foundation, Master Cheng Yen often tells us “Fortunate are those who feel wanted. To be able to help with own talents and skills is a blessing.”

We are very grateful for the previous success of free dental fair held in Sydney. Many dentists and volunteers came together to give their time and expertise.

The Dental Fair provides services focused on oral health education, preventive care, and dental hygiene (such as guidance on proper brushing and toothpaste use), with emergency tooth extractions and basic restorative treatments offered as supplementary support. Basic health screenings, including blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring, are also available. The programme also seeks to gently support areas of need that may not be fully covered by existing public services, and when needed, volunteers may assist with transportation arrangements (such as supporting refugees) to ensure access to care.
