The Tzu Chi Academy in Australia was established in 1998, with a mission to promote Chinese language education and preserve traditional Chinese culture overseas. In addition to Chinese language learning, the curriculum integrates traditional cultural festivals such as Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival, allowing students to experience and understand their cultural roots through daily life activities.
However, the Academy places greater emphasis not only on language proficiency, but also on character education. The curriculum is centered on the core values of gratitude, respect, and love. Through Jing Si Aphorisms, humanities lessons, and life education, students are guided to practice filial piety, respect others, care for society, and protect the environment, thereby cultivating good character and a proper outlook on life in their everyday lives.
The Academy believes that education is not merely the transmission of knowledge, but also the nurturing of character. Through humanities education and cultural immersion, it plants seeds of kindness and love in the hearts of students, guiding them to develop integrity, compassion, and a sense of responsibility as they grow, so that they may become individuals who contribute positively to their families, society, and the world.
